This is a full day cruise that includes cruising through one of the Bay of Island's icon landmarks - the hole in the rock. Also get up close to dolphins and swim alongside these beautiful creatures.
This cruise follows the path of the original 1927 ‘Cream Trip’ and will take you on a journey back in time as you cruise past the secluded islands of the Bay, delivering essential supplies and mail to island residents.
See dolphins in their natural environment and if conditions are suitable, try swimming alongside these inquisitive creatures - a once in a lifetime experience (additional cost applies).
On arrival at Cape Brett Lighthouse, the farthest post of the ‘original’ mail deliveries, we take you through the stunning Hole in the Rock at Motukokako Island. Take in the majestic Grand Cathedral Cave before heading back into the sheltered waters of the Bay.
Your journey also includes a visit to the Black Rocks and Marsden Cross (where in 1814 the first Christian sermon was held in NZ). While we stop for lunch, enjoy the opportunity to visit an island. Relax on the sandy beach or take a short walk.

Please note that additional payment of $30pp is required on the day if you would like to swim with the dolphins.
A full commentary is provided in English by the skipper and crew. Printed guide sheets are available in German, Japanese and Mandarin.
If you are planning to swim with the dolphins, please bring a towel and wear your swimsuit under your clothes for convenient changing.
Please note that if you are would like to depart from Russell the departure time is at 9:40am and return at 4:05pm.
Dolphin Swimming and Dolphin Viewing cannot be guaranteed.

Q. What time do you run the experience at? A. Deaprts at 9am & returns at 4:15pm
Q. Can you swim with the dolphins? A. Yes on the day you can pay an extra $30.00 if the option to swim with them is there, this is not always guarenteed.
