This is an ex-military personnel carriers, known as the Hagglund, which are built for extreme terrain.
These tracked vehicles operate on and off-road.
With a top road speed of 50kph, an ability to climb or descend 2m
vertically and safely handle up to 42” on a side slope, these vehicles
are definitely the ultimate in land transport.
Also on the day of your activity you can visit the truly unique exhibition of indoor and outdoor model villages of real West Coast towns: Reefton and Waiuta, New Zealand’s favourite ghost-town

Q. How often do you operator? A. Tours run on demand from 8:30am until 5:00pm. We do not have a set timetable, so choose a time that best suits and if it’s available then we will confirm the booking! Q. What happens if the weather is bad? A. Our Motto is “The Wetter The Better! we run tours in brilliant sunshine or torrential rain! It doesn’t matter when you are kitted out in all the wet weather gear we have available. We still operate while other local adventures have been cancelled due to bad weather. Q. What to Wear on your West Coast Adventure? A. Wear casual clothing, but preferably not skirts or white clothing. We provide boots and helmets. Protective clothing is available for a small hire charge ($4 per person). You are not likely to get muddy on the Argo, but we have jackets in case of rain! Q. How many passengers can the hagglund carry? A. The Hagglund carries up to 15 passengers and requires a minimum of 2 Adult fares or equivent. Q. Can we purchase and Photos or Souvenirs on the day? A. We sell photo CD's of your adventure.Souvenirs are also on sale - Take home a memento of you adventure. Q. Is there a Cafe available close by? A. There is a Cafe open for light refreshments including Devonshire teas, coffee, ice creams and drinks. Customer bathrooms are also available. Q. What type of Track does the Huggland go thru? A. The property is 50% native forest and 50% fair to rough grazing pasture. Many tracks have been formed through the forest to give the feel of isolation and to capture the beauty of what it’s like deep in West Coast Rainforest.
