Today’s journey takes us on a 4 hour tour of the Bay if Islands we depart Paihia heading west to Okaihau via the old bay road through to Mangamuka and Kaitaia before reaching the southern end of 90 mile beach
Here at Shipwreck Bay, at the southern point of Ahipara Bay, are a number of wrecks visible at low tide.
We leave Kaitaia and head north to Awanui and then east to Mangonui for a quick feed of fish and chips at Mangonui on the Doubtless Bay.
Leaving Mangonui we head south to Moerewa and depending on time we may get a chance to visit the vintage steam train ride and we must check out the world famous toilets in Kawakawa before we head back to the port of Paihia.
